How to Apply

Applying to Raha International School is a simple three-step process.

Applications for the current Academic Year: if spaces are available the application will be reviewed and an assessment scheduled. If spaces are not available the application will be reviewed and placed on a waitlist until spaces become available again.

Applications for the next Academic Year: all applicants for Grade 1 to 12 will be assessed. In accordance with Abu Dhabi law, there are no assessments for the Early Years Programme. Secondary assessments start in March. Primary assessments are scheduled between March and June.

Step One: Please complete our Online Application Form. All applications are digital. We have no paper applications. Once we are in receipt of your online application, you will receive an email sent to the email address you have entered on the application. This email will direct you to Step Two.

Step Two: The email from Raha International School will provide a list of required documents and reference number. Our Admissions team will also contact you personally with the next steps.

If places are available, your child will be invited to attend an assessment. In order to book the assessment, please be prepared to submit electronically:

a. A copy of the child’s passport
b. A copy of the child’s most recent report card
c. A copy of any diagnostic testing or educational assessment and/or any psychological assessments (if applicable)
d. A completed candidate reference form completed and stamped by the previous school (document provided by RIS)

Please be advised that on acceptance, you will also be asked to provide the following electronically (this applies for every school in Abu Dhabi) before the child begins school:

1. Students transferring from WITHIN Abu Dhabi:

a. One student photograph (passport size)
b. Presentation to the school Arabic Administrator of student & both parents’ Emirates
c. Physical presentation of ID card, NOT paper copy)
d. Copy of the end of year school report
e. Copy of the applicant’s passport (main information page only)
f. Copy of Family Book (Emirati students only)
g. GPS Coordinates of home address or household electricity bill (if there has been a recent change to your home address)
h. Completed Medical Form (provided by school)
i. A copy of the student’s vaccination record
j. A copy of the student’s health insurance card

2. Students Transferring from OVERSEAS OR FROM ANOTHER EMIRATE:

a. One student photograph (passport size)
b. Presentation & SCAN through the Abu Dhabi Education Council scanning system of Emirates ID card for student and both parents. If you have recently arrived in country, a copy of the EMIRATES ID APPLICATION will be valid for entry to school for a period of 30 days after which time the Emirates ID cards should be presented.
c. Attested transfer certificate (see note below on attestation & applicable countries).
d. Copy of the most recent school report which should be officially translated into English
e. Copy of the applicant’s passport (main information page only)
f. Copy of Family Book (Emirati students only)
g. GPS coordinates of your home address or copy of electricity bill
h. Completed Medical Form
i A copy of the student’s vaccination record
j. A copy of the student’s health insurance card

ATTESTATION NOTES
SCHOOL TRANSFER CERTIFICATES WILL REQUIRE TO BE ATTESTED AS FOLLOWS:
Students coming from GCC countries (KSA, QATAR, BAHRAIN, OMAN & KUWAIT)
• School Transfer Certificate to be attested by the MINISTRY OF EDUCATION

Students coming from NON-GCC countries with the exception of USA, Canada, Western Europe (see note below) and Australia
• School Transfer Certificate (English Language) to be attested by the MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS and the UAE EMBASSY (located in the country you are departing from).

Note: Countries in Western Europe with an exemption are United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Belgium, Poland, Netherlands, Greece, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

Step Three: We will contact you with a date for your child’s placement assessment , which will be administered by the Admissions Office and reviewed by Raha International School faculty. After assessment and upon receiving an acceptance letter, a deposit fee is required to reserve your seat. A seat cannot be held until the deposit payment is received. We will advise of the amount in the acceptance letter.
